About Fergusons Removals

It all started in 1926 when the entrepreneurial Matthew Ferguson decided to leave the colliery to set up in Blyth, Northumberland, as a general carrier. With the Depression at its height, he took the courageous step of selling his house to invest in his first commercial vehicle, a Bean, to commence trading as a general carrier of goods between Blyth and Newcastle. Included in the “general carrying” service was household goods, and out of this humble beginning the removals division grew into what is today a steady and successful enterprise.

Although the past 80 years has seen the company flourish and grow into a national organisation involved in logistics, general haulage, warehousing and commercial property, there remains still, at its heart, the removals division.

Fergusons Removals has grown and developed into a successful, efficient and professional team of experts providing customers with a wide range of specialist removals and storage services designed to take the worry out of, let’s face it, one of life’s more stressful events - moving house!
